October 20, 2010- Our Psi Chapter at University of Pittsburg did it.

Sorry it took me so long to get back to you, we have just been really busy with recruitment, school, and planning for next year.
This semester, we recruited our largest pledge class since the early 90's (11 pledges!) with a chapter of 20 brothers.  We did this using your advice of having mostly small activities, instead of having a couple big (and expensive) events.  These included a couple of cookouts at our house, watching Pitt football games, and playing football, frisbee, and cornhole.  We met a lot of high quality guys that are already contributing toward the success of our fraternity, and a few more that expressed interest in rushing next semester, but needed to focus on school this semester or get permission from their parents.
A couple interesting things we realized is that nobody put up flyers around campus, which was mostly due to the university not allowing us to have official rush events at our house (we are off campus), and by focusing on having small activities at our house as the main way of meeting potential pledges, we saved a ton of money on our recruiting budget, which allowed us to go out for a really nice 501 dinner at the end of rush week.
We are hoping to have another large class of quality men spring semester (in addition to likely having a small winter pledge class), and continuing to grow and succeed on campus.  Thanks again for all of your great recruiting advice.
