About the Chapter
The Sigma Chi Chapter at University of Maryland in College Park, MD chartered on December 16, 1933. Over 1391 men have been initiated into the Sigma Chi Chapter since its inception.
Current Status
This past Spring 2019 the Sigma Chi Chapter hosted its second annual “Sigma Alpha Zoo” event. Sigma Alpha Zoo is a petting zoo that includes baby goats, rabbits, llamas, chickens, and other farm animals for students to interact with on campus. The goal is to help students reduce stress before finals season. Alpha Delta Pi hosted the event with us, and together we were able to raise almost $1,000 for the Judy Fund and the Ronald McDonald House. We had over 120 people come to the petting zoo on campus throughout the day.
