Shape your collegiate experience by becoming a Founding Father and leave a legacy on campus for those who will become members in the years after you graduate. Sigma Alpha Mu Fraternity offers numerous educational programs and leadership opportunities to help you bring positive change to the entire Greek community at your campus through the eight altars of Sigma Alpha Mu Fraternity.
In terms of time commitment, Founding Fathers should expect to invest at least five hours each week to Sigma Alpha Mu, but that may vary given your role with the Fraternity.
Sigma Alpha Mu Fraternity offers resources and supports our Sammy Founding Fathers. We dedicate an expansion coordinator for our provisional chapters. During the expansion process, headquarters provides on-campus support for the recruitment, education, and training of the new members. In addition, we organize a local-past chapter alumni advisory team that has completed advisor training. These volunteers will mentor new members of the provisional chapter.
Sigma Alpha Mu Fraternity has an active presence at more than 50 universities and colleges across North America. At Sammy, our mission is to develop men who embody a good moral character. We are searching for young leaders who are ready to leave a legacy on their campus. In addition to the active chapter roll, we currently have colonies/interest groups on the following campuses: Cincinnati, Colorado, and Boston.
Formal expansion projects are scheduled for Sigma Alpha – Oklahoma (Fall 2020) and Epsilon Theta – West Virginia (Spring 2021).
Our creed challenges us to demonstrate true manhood, democracy, and humanity during our time on our campus communities, and throughout our lives. And we know we cannot do that alone. With the help of our host institutions and community partners, we collaborate to put into action our eight altars: sincerity, simplicity, holiness, idealism, fraternalism, justice, purity and truth. These men, women, and organizations provide the support, guidance, and resources we often need to fulfill our mission.
