About the Chapter
The Sigma Zeta Chapter at University of Indiana in Bloomington, IN chartered on April 19, 1922. Over 2389 men have been initiated into the Sigma Zeta Chapter since its inception.
This fall, Sigma Zeta Chapter hosted a Shabbat dinner at our apartment complex on the roof. We had 85 brothers signed up for the event. We are so grateful that we were able to obtain a Jewish Endeavors grant from the Sigma Alpha Mu Foundation. The money was used to receive a full-course meal from the Helene G. Simon Indiana University Hillel.
It was the perfect opportunity for the brothers of our chapter to come together, Jewish or not, and enjoy a traditional shabbat dinner. One of our main goals of this dinner was to connect brothers to the Jewish community, and traditional customs.
Additionally, our Candidates learned more about our chapter. The event included a reading from the hamotzi and kiddush. We had soup followed by a main course and dessert. Fratres from the chapter were pleased with the outcomes of the event, and are hoping to do something like this in the future.
The Sigma Zeta Chapter appreciates the Sigma Alpha Mu Jewish Endeavors Foundation and the Helene G. Simon Indiana University Hillel for helping make this event a success!
