Octagonian May 2026

This online-only issue of The Octagonian highlights the importance of belonging and lifelong impact of Sigma Alpha Mu.

This issue explores how fraternity shapes connection, leadership, service, and personal growth through stories from across our brotherhood. From alumni reconnecting decades after graduation to undergraduates strengthening their campus communities today, the message throughout this edition is clear: meaningful relationships and shared purpose continue to define Sigma Alpha Mu.

A featured story examines the Fraternity’s new Brotherhood Assessment conducted in partnership with Dyad Strategies. The findings reveal that Sigma Alpha Mu members report a strong sense of belonging, accountability, and connection while outperforming intrerfraternity benchmarks in several key areas.

This issue also features Bishop Deon Johnson (Case Western, ’96) who reflects on how his Sigma Alpha Mu experience helped shape his path toward ministry and leadership. His story serves as a powerful reminder that the impact of fraternity endures long after college.

You’ll also read about:

• Alumni reconnecting in South Florida and across the country
• Undergraduate philanthropy and chapter initiatives
• The 2026 Convention and upcoming alumni events
• Foundation updates, scholarships, and Day of Giving success
• Around the Chapters and Chapter Eternal
