Chapter Performance Report

CPR 2023-2024

The Chapter Performance Report helps chapters meet the basic standards and expectations of the International Fraternity and share their successes. The program is structured into eight sections and those categories reflecting the altars of Sigma Alpha Mu.

Submissions are split into three reports (one in the Fall, one in mid-Spring, and one at the end of the Academic Year).  Chapters will receive feedback from their HQ Chapter Coach after each submission.

The Chapter Performance Report also will drive and help determine the 2024 individual and chapter-based awards presented at Convention in Summer 2024.

FAQs

How Do Chapters Submit The CPR?

The Chapter Performance Report is on Smarter Select.

There will be 3 deadlines to help chapters have accurate reporting:

  • October 1 (Fall submission)
  • March 1 (Spring submission)
  • July 1 (Final submission)

Within the Spring submission, there will be an opportunity for you to apply for the applicable awards and nominate any fraters from your chapter for individual awards.

What Does the CPR Mean for My Chapter?

  • The Chapter Performance Report also will drive and help determine the 2024 individual and chapter-based awards presented at Convention. Chapters receive discounts and surcharges on their Risk Management and Insurance Contributions based on the score they receive.
  • The score will determine the chapter’s standing with the Fraternity:
    • Founders Level (10% RMC Discount) – Top Third of All Chapters. Groups attaining this level of excellence are our healthiest. Only the Chapters scoring in the highest 10% are eligible for the Founder’s Cup.
    • Octagon Level – Middle Third of All Chapters. These groups are at an acceptable level in order to remain an active chapter in Sigma Alpha Mu.
    • Alumni Receivership (10% RMC Surcharge) – Bottom Third of All Chapters. This is a probationary status. Chapters in Alumni Receivership have one academic year to improve their chapter performance score to either Octagon or Founders Level. Alumni Receivership means that the chapter’s alumni will receive a specific charter and be expected to work, along with staff and the Octagon, with the chapter to increase its standing. If, after a year, the chapter cannot move beyond Alumni Receivership, the Octagon will have the option to reorganize, suspend, or close the chapter.
