Bruce joined Sigma Alpha Mu at University of Maryland in 1971 and lived in the fraternity house for four years. He served as House Manager, Steward, Exchequer, and Prior of the Sigma Chi Chapter. He was elected President of the Student Government Association and graduated with a degree in Journalism. Bruce joined the Octagon in 2023 after years of involvement with the Sigma Chi Chapter and the national Budget and Finance Committee.
Bruce retired in 2022 from a career in not-for-profit management after working primarily at the World Wildlife Fund and American College of Cardiology. He also was active in local politics, elected and serving two terms on the State Central Committee of his political party and appointed to four terms over 16 years to the Baltimore County Board of Elections where he served a term as Board President. He served as a Board Member of his synagogue and has volunteered for over 25 years at Manna House, a local soup kitchen.
Bruce lives in Pikesville, Maryland, with his wife Lisa and has two daughters and a grandson that he adores.
