Evan joined Sigma Alpha Mu, Sigma Theta Chapter at the University of Texas-Austin in the fall of 2002 where he served as both Vice Prior and Candidate Educator. In 2005, Fra Remer was elected to serve on the Octagon as the Undergraduate Consul. His involvement in ΣAM continued over the years in a variety of volunteer roles, including past Chair of the Marketing & Outreach Committee and most recently as a member of the ΣAM 2030 Strategic Planning Committee. Evan was appointed to the Octagon in December of 2021.
Evan currently works at Nationwide Insurance as a Product Manager in Commercial Lines Digital Enablement. Evan spent the first part of his career working in the Jewish community, first for Indiana University Hillel and Emory University Hillel, then for Birthright NEXT, followed by the American-Israel Chamber of Commerce. These experiences gave Evan an opportunity to explore his passion for the Jewish community through engagement, programming, fundraising, and leadership development.
Evan holds a Bachelor of Science in Communication Studies from the University of Texas-Austin and a Master of Business Administration from Indiana University’s Kelly School of Business. He is an active member of the Columbus Jewish community where he currently serves as Financial Resource Development and Annual Campaign Chair for Young Jewish Columbus, the young professional’s division of JewishColumbus. Evan counts college football, Jewish communal service, and scouring social media for the best memes amongst his many passions. Evan currently resides in Columbus, OH with his wife Carolyn, their two children, Daniel and Vivian, and their dog Sammie, named after Evan’s beloved Fraternity.
